The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Beginning is a 2008 animated film that serves as a prequel to the Disney classic, The Little Mermaid. The film takes us back to a time before Ariel became a part of Prince Eric's world and explores the events that shaped her into the curious and adventurous mermaid we know and love.
Set in the underwater kingdom of Atlantica, the film introduces us to Ariel's family - King Triton, her loving father, and her six older sisters. Atlantica was once a place filled with music and laughter, but after the untimely death of Queen Athena, music was banned by King Triton, leaving the kingdom in a state of gloom.
Ariel, however, has always been drawn to music. She discovers a secret underground club called "The Catfish Club" where Sebastian, the crab, and his band perform. Ariel is captivated by the music and the freedom it represents. Determined to bring music back to Atlantica, Ariel embarks on a daring adventure with her friends Flounder and Sebastian.
As Ariel defies her father's orders and sneaks out to the club, she finds herself entangled in a thrilling and dangerous quest. Along the way, she uncovers a long-lost family secret that sheds light on her mother's disappearance and the reason behind King Triton's ban on music.
With the help of her friends, Ariel rallies the underwater creatures and her sisters to stand up against the oppressive rule and bring music back to Atlantica. Together, they must convince King Triton that music
